SSC P7 high output LED bike light with external battery pack. This lamp unit can also be attached to an elastic head strap to be used as a headlamp. These compact, light weight, high output lights are very functional and extremely cost effective. Commonly marketed as the Magicshine MJ-808, these units were purchased directly from the production factory and do not have the branding of "magicshine" printed on the box.

These lamps and battery packs each have an 18” lead wire on them for total of 36” of cable. The SSC P7 emitter is powered by a 4-cell (2-series, 2-parallel) Lithium Ion battery pack with internal circuit protection and peak voltage of 8.4 volts. These battery packs have had the ends sealed with silicone to reduce the potential for water intrusion. Although these (along with any other P7 light) are commonly marketed as 900 Lumens please be aware that is not accurate information, these lights output about 350-400 lumen. An illuminated power button on the head unit indicates battery state of charge (green >25%, Red <25% remaining). The unit uses a buck regulator (AKA- digitally regulated) to ensure the output remains stable as the battery discharges without dimming.

Modes: These lights have 3 modes (High/Medium/slow blink ~1hz/OFF). Modes are changed by pushing the power switch. The PCM does not have memory; you must cycle through the modes to turn it off.

Measurements (by e-lectronics):

Standby: 6mA
High: 1.4 amp, ~350 lumen (runtime measurements to come, estimated 2.5hrs)
Low: .5 amp, ~ 125 lumen for about 4 hours (runtime measurements to come, estimated 8 hrs)

*Note: current measurements were taken between the battery pack and driver for estimation of runtime, not between the driver and LED.

An optional helmet mount (head strap)can be selected below. Helmet mounts will be provided with an elastic head strap and 12" of dual sided velcro for helmet mounting. I recommend cutting the elastic strap off and using the dual sided velcro to attach the helmet mount.
